A new generation of more efficient solar cells is on the horizon.

Today's solar cells have an efficiency of 17%. Associate Professor Turid Worren is head of a project that will make a test model of 3rd generation solar cells by the end of the year. "Theoretically, we might reach efficiencies of 60 per cent or higher. In practice we hope for 40 per cent efficiency at the start.", Worren says.

That's the kind of thinking needed today!

Tesla EV Roadster pics leaked!

The unveiling of the Tesla EV Roadster is going on right now as we speak. But pics of the all-electric supercar have already been leaked. The Tesla EV Roadster achieves the equivalent of 135 mpg, has a 250-mile range, can go 0-60 in 4 seconds and runs on 6,831 lithium-ion (laptop) batteries.

OS X: Full-Screen Quicktime for free - no QT Pro upgrade needed.

A simple script hack from Macworld that you can do yourself in less than a minute. "Is there a way to have QuickTime 7 play in full screen without paying for the pro version? Sure. Launch Script Editor and enter this..." This works great on my Macbook Pro.

There you go, free and easy, and you get to learn to write an Apple Script too! What a deal!
